The Caledon Strand Magazine Launches

Through the diligent efforts of its staff, the first issue of the Caledon Strand Magazine was released today! You may pick up your copy at the Strand's office just off the telehub in Caledon Cay! I must say that Gryffin Hax did a lovely job on its cover, which has yours truly on it...It also features Mr Iason Hassanov, Mr 1wuz Gray, Miss Cornelia Rothschild, Mr Xero Silverspar and the Guvnah. At the launch party, editors Ms Alexx McLagen-Warburton and her cousin Zombielady McLagen thanked everyone for their hard work providing stories, articles and art. They hope to make it at least a bi-monthly publication...
We all partied in celebration. I wore my cover girl look (It's the 1879 Revue RedWhite with the Godey Nightfall's skirts for those who inquired about it!) and had a lovely time...

Happy Anniversary Caledon Tanglewood!

Caledon Tanglewood is the heart of Caledon in a way, with its large trees and majestic forest feel. One of Caledon more "quirky" sims, there is always something special that makes you smile when you visit. Home to Caledon's "woodland creatures", Tanglewood turned one today...Mr & Mrs Mordecai & Kacy Scaggs hosted a party aboard their incredible Rakehell airship that hovers above the forest. The fae, furry and tiny all turned out to dance!
I could not help but wonder...what has happened to all of the tinies of Tangle? Didn't there used to be more? I am very often a tiny, but I don't really see others...
Either way, a knee-high critter such as myself was delighted by the spread, including tiny tea, wine and cake!
And I thought Miss Vandeverre looked lovely...

Solarya and a Tiny Dancer

I met Mr Enoch in SteamSky and he showed me a new build that he is working on for Sir Zen's scripting school. Rather exciting I say, as I am godawful at scripting. It would be nice to learn a few things...Afterwards, we went to Solarya (where we are both merchants) and took a balloon tour...
Later on that evening, in the spirit of Chinese New Year, Steelhead had a party celebrating all things Asian...
From there, this partying tiny went to Caledon Penzance to celebrate the opening of Radio Riel's new headquarters build by Lord Primbroke...
This "Riel-ly Hot Bunneh" was joined by Lord Otenth and Mr Despres (as a hedgehog and duck, respectively) and we partied hard! A good time!

Laughter on Parade!

Imagine over 60 persons and multiple high-prim floats trying to make their way through 12 Caledon sims and the reality was a whole lot of crazy fun and laughter! Here the floats and paraders assemble in Tanglewood (counter-clockwise from left: Radio Riel, Admiral Wind's New Toulouse, CIB and the Thadivarian airship)...
The Radio Riel float had a Rio Carnival by way of Gabi's flouncy skirt theme. Spectators lined the streets to watch us all go by! With the lag involved we somehow ended up in bodies of water more than once! Who knew Caledon had so many streams and creeks!
Sim crossings could be particularly challenging too! Duchess Gabi's driving was particularly impressive, when we weren't floating...Here we are in Regency being run over by parade organizer Mr Hassanov's giant elephant!Somehow, hours later, we all made it to Mr Hassanov's place in Tamrannoch, where you can now see many of the floats on display. We all swapped crash and accident horror stories en route, but everyone agreed that they couldn't stop laughing it was so much fun!
There was only one thing to do after all of that! Throw on some Mardi Gras music and party!
Hoooo! It was great having everyone come together for such a fun time!!!

A Gift of Live Music and A Burning of Gifts!

Our Guvnah brought us all the gift of live music at the Gaeity Theatre in Penzance by inviting Argentinian band Shamanes, who were really great! Of course, rezzing for me was an issue so my pic of them is grayed out...They got the crowd moving and hooo'ing!
Here I am dancing salsa with Mr Tairov...Why am I standing here all dreamy-looking? The pretty lyrics to one of the songs was being sung to me in IM, that's why...heeeeee. It was great fun!! Thank you for the concert Guvnah!
Later on that evening I got an IM that Genie was having an anti-Valentine's bonfire in Steelhead and we all tossed pics and gifts of old SL flames and relationships past on there. It felt good and absolutely cathartic in a way to watch it BURRRRRNNNNNN!!!

Good to Be Queen--Of Carnival!!!

I was hosting for Radio Riel at the Caledon Carnival party in Wellsian and threw on my Rio samba queen outfit. Little did I know the evening would turn into one of colorful costumes, an irreverent court gargoyle, and a drown'd King...This was not just a costume, it was an experience...I ate too much of the lovely king cake prepared by Miss Rothschild and somehow ended up with the baby, which made me Queen of Carnival!! Here I am with King Puck and our Court Gargoyle, Mr Glineux. There was something about the throne that was making me quite narcoleptic, although given my court members, I needed to be rather alert!
Everyone had fun doing the circle dance! In the background you can see the king cake to the left, and a great spread of spirits and foodstuffs. Crawfish, red beans and rice and seafood gumbo were prepared by Lady Primbroke for the occasion...
At one point, King Puck overindulged and somehow drowned himself. I poked him in the side with my foot. Definitely dead. All hail Queen Elle! He was later revived...dash it...For as long as Sir Tele and I have been friends I can't believe this is the first time that we have ever danced together!
I had a wonderful time being your queen! Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!

Libraries and Exploring Steeltopia

I thought I'd head over to the Radio Riel at Info Island's Literary festival...I really enjoying going through the SL Library...very well-done! There was also a display from our our Caledon Library and it made me wonder about other libraries in SL and the librarian "culture" present here. I shall be finding out more soon and letting you know!
Kheph asked me to join him in the new sim of Steeltopia, where we (along w/Mr Writer), have another shop together. We thought we'd explore the sim and found a mine...
I then posed for the ad for his new jump steamboots...you must try them!
Later I danced with Caledon's head librarian Mr Drinkwater at Lady Amber's Imbolc ball, the ancient celtic celebration of the beginnings of spring. Everyone looked beautiful in their white clothing and I had a chance to ask questions about the libraries. He gifted me with novels from Dickens, one of my favorite authors...

HOOOO! I'M ONE!!!

I am one! HUZZAH!! I do not know how you all have put up with me this long *laughs*! Eds and Dia did a wonderful job creating a "dancing in the clouds" atmosphere!Duchess Gabi DJ'd, playing music straight from my music library that had everyone dancing and ooo'ing! I was so tickled by that and was also glad to see Mr Webb (in full dragon), as it was his rez day too! It was great having all of my friends come out and celebrate with me!
There is something to be said about being able to breakdance in stiletto heels! Here I am with Mr Goodliffe, about to do a flip and handstand as Duchess Gabi has one of her infamous sandwiches in the background!Of course LL did a region restart towards the end, but it was not a problem at all! We went to Carntaigh and tp'd everyone over in no time at all and the party kept on going! All of my Steelhead neighbors showed up and four hours after it began, the party was still going on strong!
But all great things come to an end, and even the Artist Formerly Known As Mr Sands had to put away their dancing shoes! Thank you everyone for making my rez day so absolutely wonderful!!!!!

Aviatrix Skeeter

Sometimes, you just feel like taking to the air! I decided to create this flying outfit for myself (the goggles are not by me, but everything else is)...I decided to take the Cricket out for a spin...I got all the way around the Firth twice before being taken out in Murdann. My plane was recovered in Vic City. The next time I didn't do half badly either, but the third go, my aeroplane...well, took off from Penzance without me--and somehow ended up on Mr Drinkwater's land in the Highlands! Oh my! So sorry sir!
Once I recovered from my aviation mishap, I went to a flash rave at Carntaigh to debut Radio Riel's newest music presenter, Miss Jun Karoda...Here is Mr Hassanov wearing one of my new metal top hats...It just seemed right for him, no?

12th Night Wellsian Library Opening

Over 60 of us gathered and danced for hours in Wellsian to celebrate the opening of the latest branch of the Caledon Library! A Twelfth Night/Carnival theme in keeping with the library's exhibit, we all came decked out in finery and masks. The lag unfortunately did not allow everyone to truly rez properly, but it was a swirl of color and excitement as we partied! If anything, we definitely now know that Wellsian is quite a stable sim! King cake was eaten, Mr Writer's absinthe freely flowed and Kings and Queens of Misrule made decrees, all in the loose fun of the evening--some of us more loose than others!
I had a chance to dance with Prof. Messmer in the lovely pavilion nearby. We had decided to come dressed Venetian Carnevale-style...

A Busy Sunday!

I was admiring Gryffin's trophy for his decorated gallery windows while in my snow phoenix AV, which has crackling fire effects (and snowflakes--what a combination!). I used to wear different AVs on a more regular basis when I first came to Caledon. Why in the world did I ever stop as I do enjoy it so? I have a few favorite forms, such as this one, so perhaps I shall sport them more often! I was preparing to go to the Tinies New Year's Ball in Raglan, but stopped through the Loft in Harborside first for a chat with Dia, Gryffin and Zoe...
This sign in the tavern is hilarious...
I hosted in a pinch for Dia at Jazzer's Paradise where we rocked out to metal...
And ended my evening sharing pints of Guinness and catching up with Prof. Messmer at Dr Fabre's Quarterdeck Reform Club in Port Babbage...
