Blame It On the Unicorn

I walked down the street to find my neighbor and friend Miss Schnabel's home burned down to the ground and her cousin Mr Matova standing in the midst of the rubble and smouldering flames. "It...it was the unicorn," he explained. "I was asleep and woke up to the place being alight. I barely made it out." I looked at the bottles of absinthe and champagne sitting before him on the ground and began to wonder. A lot. I mean, after all, the unicorns that I know in Caledon (such as Lord Vid and Mr Nightfire) are not inclined to arson.

Then Mr Garrigus arrived, dark hair swirling around him and shouting: "MATOVA! What have you done to my ROSES?!" And a chase was on. I have set a bucket of water on top of my mailbox...Just in case.

Dark Victorian Emporium Opens

Today was the opening of the Dark Victorian Emporium in Tanglewood--a brand-new one-stop shop featuring clothing by designers such as myself, skins, accessories, home furnishings, and even horses with a dark bent. We celebrated with a dance on the roof of Dame Lapin's gorgeous build as Duckthulhu Dagger spun the tunes.

It will also be the only place where you can find goods for sale by artist AM Radio in the near future. Members of the Dark Victoria group may sell their wares there and if you are interested in doing so, please contact Mr. Posemaster Darkstone...

A Visit to the Birthday Sims

I roamed the SL 5th Birthday (SL5B) sims as a tiny squirrel last night and visited builds such as our Caledon one, as organized by Miss Gray and Mr Volare. It really is quite nice...I also visited Raglan Shire's as well...
Which had an overview of the highlights of Raglan's history and events. Great fun!

Happy RezDay JJ!

Last night I went to Eds' lovely Hoy sim for Sir JJ Drinkwater's 2nd RezDay party. There was a lively crowd and the Library Lion himself danced the menuet. I had a very nice time dancing and catching up with the always unpredictable Mr Puck Goodliffe...

And It All Came Tumbling Down...

Many thanks to Mr. Crap Mariner for filming this fun machinima of our Tower at the Rezzable Garden being demolished. It was quite the takedown!! It was fun while it lasted, and thanks to Mr Madcow Cosmos for coming to see it and then destroying his own!

A Clockwork Tower....

Last night I stood at the base of our Tower looking up at it and enjoying it all for the last time. What a beautiful structure it was and Kheph and I are glad that so many enjoyed it...I looked over the now deserted garden, its terrains a psychedelic kaleidoscope of textures...
With our witnesses in place, we dropped it...gears and glass and copper flying everywhere...
As we stood among the rubble, we both agreed...it had been a wonderful run. Let's do something like it again soon!

Tinies Fashion Show at the Loch

I put on the tiny version of my Regency RedGold dress and went to Loch Avie for the RFL Tinies Fashion show. You can see Mr . D. Hax in the background as a ferret wearing my Tiny Thom waistcoat ensemble...That infernal minion Mr Quan made an appearance, but for a good cause for once. He wore his hypnotic device in an effort to get others to donate...
Which led to a promise that if attendees donated 1000L$ Mr Peccable would dress up like a dark-haired Amazon princess and try to take him down!
And like all fashion shows, this one ended with Miss Discovolante as the lovely bride in one of her designs tossing out tiny bouquets...

What? No Water?

I am always game to test and ride in my friends' air vehicles. My reputation as a "crash test dummy" seems to precede me. Mr Enoch gave me a ride in his new airship skybox and I was all set to open my parachute given my past experiences. I settled into the comfortable seat as we cruised the skies above Eyre. After he stopped I realized something rather important: It was the first time I have ever been in an air vehicle with him and did not end up underwater somehow!

Doc Mason's Founder's Day Party

Tonight I donned my fancy toga, gold laurel wreath and golden sandals and went to Babbage Palisade to Doc Mason's Founder's Day birthday celebration, whose theme was the rather decadent Roman era. How appropriate given where it was held...

Mr Quan Pays a Visit

I have had Dr Alter on my Evil Genius register for quite a while now, but this is the first time I have had a chance to meet her minion, Mr Quan, while I was at Mr Hassanov's place in Tamrannoch with Miss Connolly. Mr Quan gave a veiled threat and had a tiger set upon him, although I think it just wanted to play. I did tell him to tell his employer that I am watching their activities...is Hidden Paw active again?

Bunnehs in Glamorgan & SouthEnd

Mr Phin Messmer and I braved the weekend lag and I flew us from Penzance to the southern sims...as bunnies. We thought we'd explore the newest of Caledon's sims and started out in Mr Ambiant Kukulcan's Caledon Glamorgan, which we liked very, very much as it a steampunky dream...Ooooo...We looked across the water and I spotted the ferris wheel! "Look, Caledon SouthEnd!!!!" I said and we flew over...
SouthEnd is spectacular and Mr LittleBlackDuck Lindsay's buildings are gorgeous. We ran all over looking at the buildings. I can't wait to see what will happen here. It has such a wonderful layout!

One Ring to Rule Them All...in Steelhead

I originally went to tonight's Lord of the Rings-themed dance in Steelhead tonight as the shieldmaiden Eowyn, but it seems I wasn't original, so I decided to be a Nazgul ring wraith instead...I wish I had gotten a better picture of Miss Hilra as the tempted Galadriel, but you a see a bit of her dancing with Mr Eclipse above. And there is Mr Eclipse looking very Saruman the White...

The Brass Ball

Mr Volare and Miss Gray threw the first of what are to be regular events, the Big Brass Ball party on Tuesdays in Mr Volare's warehouse in Steam SkyCity. I had a lovely time dancing with everyone!

And Elle Goes "Splat"!

"Hellooo! Come see my new toy!" I came outside of the shop to see Eds, aka Miss Caledon herself, in a very interesting steampunky air vehicle made by Loki Mahana of Castleworks. My reputation as a crash test dummy for new air vehicles precedes me (see any previous postings involving Kheph Enoch and flying), so of course I hopped in!We took to the air above Regency before finding ourselves in a rather unusual predicament...
We were in a nose dive spin that would not stop! "That is it! I'm getting airsick! We'll have to jump!" Eds said. "We have to what?!" I said as we stood up. "On the count of three. One...two...THREE!" she shouted over the din of the engines and we leapt out of the airship. I dusted myself off after my hard landing despite my parachute. "Are you alright Elle?" she asked and I nodded. "That was fun! I can't wait until it's truly ready!"

The Caledon Strand Magazine Launches

Through the diligent efforts of its staff, the first issue of the Caledon Strand Magazine was released today! You may pick up your copy at the Strand's office just off the telehub in Caledon Cay! I must say that Gryffin Hax did a lovely job on its cover, which has yours truly on it...It also features Mr Iason Hassanov, Mr 1wuz Gray, Miss Cornelia Rothschild, Mr Xero Silverspar and the Guvnah. At the launch party, editors Ms Alexx McLagen-Warburton and her cousin Zombielady McLagen thanked everyone for their hard work providing stories, articles and art. They hope to make it at least a bi-monthly publication...
We all partied in celebration. I wore my cover girl look (It's the 1879 Revue RedWhite with the Godey Nightfall's skirts for those who inquired about it!) and had a lovely time...

New Release: Godey Nightlit Bustle Dress

I realized that I had not made any white bustle dresses, so here is a lovely one, the "Godey Nightlit"...perfect for that special day or a stroll on a warm afternoon. Like the others in the Godey series, it is based upon an 1870 design from a fashion plate in Godey's Lady Book. Look for it in my aethernet and inworld shops...

A Visit from My Sister

While in Steelhead, my RL sister Baube Laval stopped by my home for a visit and made herself comfortable hopping up on top of the mantle. "Oh! My dress is on fire!" she exclaimed...After we stamped out the flames and I replaced it, we took a ride on the lighthouse beam...
And she even managed to finagle a waltz with Mr Eclipse. The little minx winked at him and teased me as I leaned on the railing watching. I swear, I think she and Phineas Matova would get along splendidly given her penchant for mischief and mayhem...

A Night in Steelhead

I started my evening in Steelhead, celebrating Sheriff Fuzz's birthday with dancing on the glass floor over the gears and molten metal at his Gearz Club...But soon, I wanted quiet and retired to Laval Point, where I sat listening to music and sorting a few things as the waves crashed behind me...
At one point, I leaned against the doorway, my satin skirts softly rustling as looked out knowingly with a smile. A fine evening indeed...

The Royal Society

Today I somehow found myself in Tamrannoch at the Royal Society of the Advancement of the Natural Sciences. If you have not been before, you really must visit as it is rather fascinating. The Honorable Lady Kate Nicholas has worked hard to present quite a collection... It seems she is currently focusing on the mushroom species that have been popping up...
Upstairs I found the tomb of the Aegyptian queen-pharoah Hatshepsut....
And in the corner, could it be?? Oh...my...it can not be! I have read before that one of its secretive guardians in Aethiopia once ran away terrified and had to be brought back to its inner sanctum. I dare not touch or try to open it as I have heard things about the Host and faces melting as a result...

Do You Like Adventure with Your Tea?

Doctor Mason invited me to a meeting of the High Tea & High Adventure Society. I was joined by the Baron Wulfenbach, Col. O'Toole, Her Grace Duchess Eva Bellambi, Frau Lowey and others as we discussed preparations for an upcoming expedition in the ruins of the cavorite mines of the Caledon Moors.

Hmm...I had better check my equipment...
