Gothic Fashion at FIT

This is only slightly OOC, as it does pertain to Victorian fashion in a way. My RL sister is a fashion merchandising student at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC. We discussed her recent homework assignment regarding the school museum's "Gothic: Dark Glamour" exhibit that recently opened. I went there briefly myself after undergrad for their design program and remember being taken behind the scenes of this museum--the only one in NYC dedicated to fashion. Imagine being surrounded by carefully preserved pieces--both historic and modern. I was in heaven. The current exhibit is a mix of both as well, discussing gothic fashion's roots and current incarnations, with include Lolita, cyberpunk and steampunk. It will be there until February '09, so if you are interested, go see it if you are there.

Dark Victorian Emporium Opens

Today was the opening of the Dark Victorian Emporium in Tanglewood--a brand-new one-stop shop featuring clothing by designers such as myself, skins, accessories, home furnishings, and even horses with a dark bent. We celebrated with a dance on the roof of Dame Lapin's gorgeous build as Duckthulhu Dagger spun the tunes.

It will also be the only place where you can find goods for sale by artist AM Radio in the near future. Members of the Dark Victoria group may sell their wares there and if you are interested in doing so, please contact Mr. Posemaster Darkstone...

A Postcard from Darkmere

Dear Readers,

For some reason, I am missing photographs from my adventures this week, so I shall start anew with those from a recent trip to Darkmere. It had recently been part of a military engagement, but its Duke, Lord Lucifer Baphomet was not present, nor any of his minions or residents. He had once given an invitation to all Caledonians quite a while ago to come visit his fair lands (especially now that serf burnings were not taking place) on our forum. I will admit that I found it rather warm there..."Deep One" Puck had a bit of an unfortunate accident while investigating the skulls on a stick...
Having a wonderful time! Wish you were here!

Dark Victorian Show

Today was the big Dark Victorian "Dark City" show, featuring Victorian designs of a more gothic feel...I was nervous to be on the runway, but here I am in my new "Godey Nightfall". I have also made the Lola Midnight available as a RFL item, so if you see it in a vendor, its purchase proceed goes towards RFL...
Lady Patty and Puck enjoy the show...
Bastchild & Lapointe (designs below) were the featured designers, but there were also great pieces from Lapin Paris, Fuschia Begonia, Terry Lightfoot and yours truly!
Afterwards, we danced in Dame Lapin's lovely build as Dia spun goth tunes. Yes, I'm the one in the mourning veil...

Partying with the Guv!

I wasn't even supposed to be inworld or in Caledon at the time I was today, but just happened to catch a mysterious CalChat IM from the Guvnah saying "Come to this location. Don't ask questions, just come..." The curiosity got many of us and we found ourselves in an industrial club called FOLTERSEQUENZ partying to metal with the Guv (in the dark gray in the background across from Lady Darkling)...He needed to leave, but encouraged us to stay and party on with the DJ, Nova Sakigake, anyway--which we did!
Am I dancing over a VORTEX??
Lady Darkling and Cap'n Trenton even showed off some yoga moves...
