Steelhead Post Office

One of the buildings that I have been hard at work on is the Steelhead Post Office Harborside Station! It is based upon the historic Martinson Cabin Museum in Poulsbo, WA and I had a great time building and tweaking/creating whole new textures for it. Much of the signage is inspired by RL historic post office signage and visit if only to go inside and read the post office hours! Miss Genie and I were talking outside of it and she has claimed PO Box #36.
I really want folks to come by and actually have fun using it regularly. Anyone may send fun Steelhead postcards with the LM in it to their friends in SL, so they can come and visit Steelhead for themselves. There is a dropbox for Steelhead suggestions and ideas out from and Lunar will be adding one for himself. I'll be adding more things to the post office soon, such as a general drop box for everyone if they want to write letters to one another and have them delivered. Enjoy!

After I talked to Genie, I was riding my little pony around town and came across Lunar's demon brother Chronos. He promised not to eat my pony (or me!) and we had a rather amiable chat...

Enjoying the Sunset

One of my SL guilty pleasures in enjoying the sunset over the Firth with Phin at our place in Mayfair. I would have kicked my legs up on the table, but that would have been rather unladylike considering what I was wearing.

Capture the Flag

Playing a bit of catch-up here as I was away in Toronto recently for a history symposium...

Hotspur O'Toole held a charity RFL event in Port Merrimac, which was a lot of fun. Using Kandace Common's paddleboats and capture the flag system, we formed two teams and it was a blast! Literally. It's pretty simple. One gets situated in their paddleboat and after being assigned to/choosing your team (in this case, red or blue), you make your way to the opposite team's buoy where their flag is...And when you get it, like I had in the image below, you try to avoid your paddleboat being attacked by the other team and make your way back to touch your own team's buoy! That simple!
We all had a splendid time and I look forward to perhaps playing again in the future. O'Toole, is Steelhead Port Harbor big enough to do so? We should have a regular weekly game of it there!

Oz Dance in Steelhead

Last night's Friday dance had an Oz theme. I could not resist going as Elphaba.

A Slight Rezzing Mishap

We have all done this at one point: taking something out of inventory and rezzing it, only to find that it is a huge build of some sort. I leaned on the railing of the lighthouse's uppermost floor and watched as Tensai helped to quickly dismantle a multistory building that Hotspur accidentally rezzed over his Polymath Eyrie home.

Thing to remember: Always be in "Edit" mode when rezzing unknown items. An easy delete or "take" can then be performed afterwards.

Castle Wulfenbach Moved

Castle Wulfenbach, the fantastic airship created by Lunar for last year's Steelhead RFL site, has been moved to a more permanent home. Otenth, Jarl of Orcadia, was quite nice and offered for it to be moored on his lands so that others may see this wonder for themselves.

The Europan Consulate folks are still settling in, so do give them a moment to have things ready and officially invite everyone for visits.

Beltane at Winterfell

I caught the tail end of Lady Eva's Beltane celebration at her castle in Winterfell. I took my end of the maypole ribbon and dipped and whirled with the others...

Walpurgisnacht Revelry in Steelhead

The Europan Consulate's Walpurgisnacht 2-day celebration culminated in a big romp around the fire under an exploding volcano in Steelhead Boomtown! The water had turned to lava and everything was a whirl of horns and hooves and wings. The two demon Eclipse brothers danced...
And Sheriff Fuzz looked rather menacing as he provided the music...
And I do hope that it was just a matter of Mr Linus Lacombe only trying to warm himself up a bit...
