Oh the Excitement!

I had a Radio Riel host gig at the A.R.t. Galerie in New Boston celebrating the year's end and the conclusion of the current exhibit. I loved the fireworks that Miss Snook brought out!Dia has established a tavern hang-out place called "The Loft". I love the "Proprietor - Claymore Wielder" sign! Here I am with my next door neighbor Prof. Messmer...
I swapped carriage houses with him and gave him my brick version. I added a second story to the white one for now. I'm still not sure what I want to do...This one is actually my HOME for once...Thought I'd take out the Canal Runner for a spin. It's perfect for the narrow waterways...

Silks in Steelhead

Two weeks ago, some of us ladies agreed to show up at the next meeting in Steelhead in silks. Last week, only Genie Burton and Miss Lumina did so as the rest of us forgot. So we ladies made up for it and attended in our silks. I was told I cheated for entering in a full fur coat. I mean, it's cold outside and I took it off didn't I?Miss Agatha Sungsoo went afk this meeting...
Managers Miss Hilra and Mr Eclipse, along with Sheriff Fuzz, look over the Harborside map. It's not too late as we still have a few 512 and 1024 parcels left if you, or someone you know would like one...

Shirtless in Steelhead

Oh no, not me, as much as I am sure that disappointed many gentlemen I know! Although, some of my fellow female citizens did join in once the goal of 60K L was reached! We had a fantastic time in Steelhead raising funds towards the purchase of Steelhead Harborside...The gents were game and at 20K lost their shirts! Here the Baron flashes a bit of lime green shorts that he seemed rather proud of...
Col. O'Toole had threatened to put on MORE clothes and the ladies cried out "No!" Here he is as a "naughty policeman"...
Mr. Zymurgy in the "flesh", along with a human Sheriff Fuzz and Lord Primbroke, dancing in the front of the party...
Here I am in my Sanchon pirate best, flintlock tucked into the back of my belt, as Eds--in her best wench's outfit--and I danced. Is that a certain moon elf manager shirtless behind us? I'm surprised that we didn't faint! At one point I caught a cape and a shirt tossed to me! Where are the smelling salts?
I have more rather incriminating photos involving cutoff shorts and thongs--on gents--but I think I shall keep those to myself. Eds and I will be smiling for days in happiness. We raised over 85,000L--way over our goal! Thanks to the men and women who lost their shirts tonight in order to achieve it!

Around the World in Steelhead

Tonight was "Around the World in 80 Days" night in Steelhead, so folks came dressed in their favorite international and explorer ensembles...You can see a good example of the different countries represented just in the conga line alone!
I started out with Morocco...
And ended with India...
I didn't get a chance to wear my 8 other international outfits! I love to collect them, as I do in RL. Here I am taking a twirl with Doc Mason...

There's Something About Steelhead...

The photo below is from my first visit to Steelhead back in June. I had heard so many nice things about it from folks that I thought I would visit. I remember finding it a gorgeous, well-laid out SL vision of the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The thing that stood out to me the most was standing at the train station in the rain. I had never seen rain in SL before then and pulled out my parasol to watch it fall around me...I looked forward to visiting again, and every time that I did I always enjoyed myself. So much has changed since my first visit, but one thing hasn't: the folks there are laid back, genuinely nice, quirky, fun, and don't take themselves too seriously. It was, in a word...refreshing. It wasn't until Dr. Mason invited me to one of the town meetings that I realized what a community Steelhead is. Every Tuesday night town meeting I have been to since has been very well-attended by its citizens, and are absolutely hilarious. Anyone can drop in. I know I did and became a citizen that very night. By my next meeting, I found myself volunteering to become the new editor of the Anvil. I didn't know much about Steelhead then, but being there made me want to!

Actually, every friend that I have ever brought with me to one of Steelhead's themed Friday night parties has become a citizen as well. Some have even bought land in the new Harborside sim, which promises to be beautiful. There are only a few parcels left now--you should find out what that "something" is about Steelhead yourself...

Steampunks in Steelhead!

The Friday night dance in Steelhead had a steampunk theme. Cogs and rivets and gears, oh my!Mr Hassanov and Miss Annalise Benelli took a break from the dancing...
Miss Hilra, Miss Projects, Mr Hassanov and Frau Lowey swirled around the crowd in a mech conga!
And here I am in my cogged out hairdo!

A Dragon-y Steelhead Town Meeting

We had all assembled for this week's town meeting when I saw a large silver head in the window just beyond. "Dragon..." I said. "Really...big...dragon..."As it turns out, it was O'Toole in dragon form, who was joined by Duchess Eva seen below...

A New Steelhead Town Hall (and a Chicken Too!)

I walked across to the Steelhead Gardens and Miss Elvejhem was putting the final touches on a frozen skating pond! I made her and Miss Weatherwax laugh as I did jumps, twirls, and tricks as I glided around...Steelhead's new town hall is complete! Hoooo! Mr Eclipse did a lovely job! It will house the medical clinic, Mr Eclipse, Miss Hilra, and Sheriff Ortega's offices, as well as the new jail. I am personally excited about having an office on the third floor for the Anvil...
Later that evening, we all attended our first town meeting in the new Hall. Poor Dr. Mason made the mistake of going away for a long time and was chickened...and fishbowled...and flaming cowed...
Many of us stopped to chat in the large main gallery afterwards. What a beautiful build it is!
