I Can Make a Box Talk! Learning Scripting!

I went to class tonight at Sir Zen's FreeFlow Academy of CodePoetry at SteamSkyCity's Aether Isle tonight. Under the watch of a portrait of one of the first programmers, Lady Ada Lovelace, I settled in on a leather couch next to Eds, and really learned a lot about basic scripting this evening. In the spirit of that esteemed woman, all of my classmates were ladies as well. All I know is that I can build and texture and create clothing very well, but scripting? My skills are abysmal. Knowing that Sir Zen is one of the best scripters out there, why not learn?

I'll admit that I, as well as the others were rather tickled to create basic scripts that made our boxes talk. Of course when I touched Eds' it said my name and that I was rather naughty. I can not quite deny that. The Vicereine stopped through and offered us all encouragement and advice...Some of us stayed on to play EnGarde and Eds finally convinced me to play. I actually had a good time although I barely knew what I was doing. She won the first match and I won the second. Not quite the hack and slash I usually like while fighting at the Grounds, but I had a really good time!

St. Andrews Day Events in Loch Avie

Today Caledon celebrated St Andrews Day in Loch Avie. That confounded Mr. Matova managed to pounce me during practice for the caber toss! There was a very good turnout and the Duke Regent Kintyre claimed the trophy...
Even George the wild haggis came out to watch!
Later, there was a tournament of champions in the sky arena with the duchies of Loch Avie (Col. O'Toole), Carntaigh (Lord Primbroke), Murdann (Lady Dia), Cymru (Lord Vid) and Kintyre (who was represented by a skilled drow fighter by the name of Alex Fitzsimmons) competing. The finals came down to Murdann and Kintyre...
With Kintyre winning the tourney. They were well-fought battles indeed!

En Garde!

Sunday night, I was explaining to Friar Newbe that the SPD weapons system works on just about anything (one of the pirates said "even skillets!"), so when he showed me his lovely sword, I gave him a copy and it was on! It's not a bad system, and at this point I've tried almost all of them except Samurai Island's. If you're not doing weapons damage, the punching can too. We had a great time at the Newbe SteamWorks skyplatform slashing away!Too bad I had to take him down...

...And then the Zombies Came

Started my night out in Carntaigh at the Naughty party. I was sorry I had to leave early, but I was invited to a Japanese Festival of the Ages ceremony at the Amatsu Mitsukai Okiya...I heard a call that zombies were on the loose in Regency! I ran down the street from home to the cemetery still dressed in my formalwear, guns at the ready. Caledonian citizens were shooting them down left and right...
And this was the last thing I saw before they bit me...
After having our fill of zombie fighting, I joined Dia at her keep high on her new land in Port Caledon. What a beautiful view of the Firth and surrounding areas she has!
We tp'd Gryffin over and all of us talked about life, work, Caledon, how giggling does not work for any of us, and two ignorant folks who didn't seem to understand that a.) Private land is private land, and b.) Backtalking Dia is a bad, bad idea...

Sir Tele's a Chicken!

Dia, Sir Tele, Lord Vid and I were sparring at the Loch the other day when Sir Tele had to go afk. Dia couldn't resist this O'Toole-esque practical joke on him..."Hurry! Group photo!" she said, and Lord Vid and I rushed over for a snap...
"Ha ha ha..." Sir Tele said, coming back. "Funny. Now why aren't you all fighting?!" Truly a focused gent, that Tele!

For My Fellow Warrior Woman!!!!

Dia, I could not wait to tell you!!

Sir Tele put out a call for sparring partners and His Grace Cymru and I answered and showed up at the arena. Fought some really fierce one-on-ones, but melee-style free for alls must be my calling because I made them BOTH eat dirt. I am tickled belief right now (of course, until I eat dirt, which will happen--but allow me my temporary glee)! Excellent fights gents, thank you! Hoooo!!!!

Loch Avie Academy of Arms Tournament!

Finally the day had arrived for the 1st Loch Avie Academy of Arts tournament. There were great fights the whole time, which included Miss Babii vs. her father, His Grace Cymru, Viderian Vollmar, in their fantastic Egyptian looks...The other matches were Col. O'Toole vs. Sir Zen, Duke Regent E. Margulis vs. Miss Poppy, and Lady Dia vs. me. As luck would have it, ours was the first match. I don't have any shots of it. If one of you does, could you please send it to me? I was running on purpose, as my health renewal wasn't kicking in due to a glitchy down button. Thank you O'Toole for the "Move! Move! Move!" advice. As Dia has a relentless style, it was better for me to stick and keep moving. I got her down to 41% by the time Sir Tele called it. She went on to defeat Margulis and fight Miss Babii...
...to win the whole thing. Here she is with Sir Tele...
...who opened the arena up to melee fighting free-for-all, which was a LOT of fun. Dia caught me first-off and I was the first to drop, dash it! But in the second melee, Mr Goodliffe and I pulled out our swords in unison and proceeded to take down everyone who stood in our way until it was just the two of us left. I lost to him after a hard fought fight, but felt a bit redeemed. What great fights I saw and what fun I had!!!!!!
We all returned later for the big ceilidh dance with Celtic music and fun. Cabers were being tossed about, the chicken was rezzed, the daleks came later...All in all, a typical Caledonian Saturday!
I had sooooo much fun today!

Sparring and Suicide Runs

Headed over to the Loch Avie sparring grounds for some practice. Me, I could understand, but Miss Babii took down Lady Dia casually...and Dia is one of the Academy's best fighters. I must admit, there is something disarming about a small Hello Kitty-wearing foal skillfully wielding an axe. Oh my...After the carnage, I mean, sparring...Lady Dia and I headed over in our warrior-women wear to Murdann for a competition of a "different" sort that we called the "Suicide Race"...
Take two extremely fast Trenton racing-version Tesla oiled (yes, OILED, not coiled) engine Canal Runners, two competitive women, one Duke caught up in the middle as officiant, and lots of water and you've got a recipe for this:
Yes, I think that's all I need to say.

Much Grass Eaten, But Not Always Beaten

Thought I'd get in some sparring practice today at the Loch Avie sparring grounds and started with a lesson from Sir Tele...I then fought Miss Gustafson, who is quite the fighter...
...And defeated Sir Hotspur. But in all due fairness to him, he is running slow due to his computer's issues. He did fight and I won, but I would rather eat grass with him at normal and able to truly fight me, than to beat him with his being at less than optimal...
Later I went on to spar with Capt. Trenton and Lord Edward. Good fights gentlemen! I will say one thing...lag and weapons are not a good combination.

Sparring in Loch Avie

Sir Tele invited me to come and watch him spar with one of his brothers from Torvaldsland. I have seen them fight before in Scagnar and both are impressive fighters. The sparring grounds in Loch Avie are constructed and the weapons system is available for free and exclusive use only in Loch Avie. Its opening will be formally announced soon.Soon a crowd had gathered to watch that included Her Grace Eva Bellambi, whose generosity will allow us to be able to fight there. She passed out mugs of her uisge beatha and I sipped upon it as I watched the fighters go at it. Whisky makes everything better!
I was reluctant at first, not having practiced with the weapons. But after seeing Miss G. take them on, I was eager to go next and buckled myself into my breastplate. I gripped my sword tightly and Miss G. and I had quite the fight. I held my own against her and later, Mr. Goodliffe and Sir Tele as well. I shall tell you that grass does not taste good to eat, but we all must do so at some point...
Fighting is very tiring. I thought I'd take a break and rest upon the grass for a moment.
I was on my feet again when the sight of Sir Tele's back tattoo made me swoon. Between the tattoo and the kilt (you know how I feel about kilted men), oh my...so very dreamy... Even warrior women have breath arrested sometimes by the sight of handsome gents. Well, at least this one does...

Caledon Mines and Weapons Preview

Sir Tele and I saddled up Flashy and Beonarges to go to the Moors and visit the Cavorite Mines, as I had not been before. We roamed the dark interior, marveling at its sights. At one point, he ate a small piece of cavorite (why I do not know) and I feared poisoning or something to that effect. Thoughts of having to call Dr. Bloodwing crossed my mind, but he was fine. Those Highlanders are made of rather strong stuff indeed...What are these strange carvings upon the wall of the abyss? Has an invasion such as the one Caledon recently experienced happened before?

Sir Tele gave me a set of the weapons similar to those that will be at the Caledon Academy of Weaponry (or whatever its future name shall be). I have seen pictures of the bows, short sword and war hammer and they are exquisite. I am looking forward to them and would like to thank Mr. Tharkis for creating them for us! Here I am with my shield and short sword. Nothing like my practicing blocking, kicking, and sword moves to scandalize my nearby Mayfair neighbors--and in a beautiful dress no less...
