Pausing...and a Fish Fight

Mondays have traditionally always shopkeeping days for me, when I check inventory, rents, box items and create vendors, and create pieces, but I had to do everything on a Tuesday instead. Afterwards, I leaned on the railing of the mezzanine of my Caledon Regency shop and looked down over the floor below.

First, I thought, "I have really created a lot" and of that, I'm truly proud. Then, I looked over at the Inkyboy Gallery and thought, "I love Gryffin's work and that octopus is way too much fun."

I'll be releasing some new menswear and steampunk ensembles for the Fall. I love what I do and I'm lucky to be able to share it with everyone... Later, I checked on my shop in Steeltopia and went across the street to the Embassy of Steelhead. I ended up ducking under the stairs with my Tombola Steelhead "sword fish" fighting trout as Lunar and Miss Hilra got into a full-fledged parrot vs. fish gun fight. I'm sure that was quite some cleanup afterwards...

Fairy Tales Kickoff & Swan Sitting in Regency

I managed to catch the end of Steelhead's fairy tale festival storytelling session tonight as Col. O'Toole regaled us with a story from 1001 Nights...An overview of the ballroom and its fanciful decorations, including an orrery by Miss Hilra suspended from the ceiling...
Later that evening, Lunar and I had a bit of fun sitting on the swans in the central waters behind my shop in Regency, much to the surprise of my neighbor Mr Palisades. My cleaning bill will be a bit interesting given all of that satin and velvet, but at least I won't have to burn it like the dress I wore exploring the sewers that time...

Blame It On the Unicorn

I walked down the street to find my neighbor and friend Miss Schnabel's home burned down to the ground and her cousin Mr Matova standing in the midst of the rubble and smouldering flames. "It...it was the unicorn," he explained. "I was asleep and woke up to the place being alight. I barely made it out." I looked at the bottles of absinthe and champagne sitting before him on the ground and began to wonder. A lot. I mean, after all, the unicorns that I know in Caledon (such as Lord Vid and Mr Nightfire) are not inclined to arson.

Then Mr Garrigus arrived, dark hair swirling around him and shouting: "MATOVA! What have you done to my ROSES?!" And a chase was on. I have set a bucket of water on top of my mailbox...Just in case.

And Elle Goes "Splat"!

"Hellooo! Come see my new toy!" I came outside of the shop to see Eds, aka Miss Caledon herself, in a very interesting steampunky air vehicle made by Loki Mahana of Castleworks. My reputation as a crash test dummy for new air vehicles precedes me (see any previous postings involving Kheph Enoch and flying), so of course I hopped in!We took to the air above Regency before finding ourselves in a rather unusual predicament...
We were in a nose dive spin that would not stop! "That is it! I'm getting airsick! We'll have to jump!" Eds said. "We have to what?!" I said as we stood up. "On the count of three. One...two...THREE!" she shouted over the din of the engines and we leapt out of the airship. I dusted myself off after my hard landing despite my parachute. "Are you alright Elle?" she asked and I nodded. "That was fun! I can't wait until it's truly ready!"

Pardon the Dust! E.Laval is Moving!

I wanted to downsize. Gryffin wanted to downsize. I didn't want the gallery build or the gallery itself to go away, so I came up with a solution. I have outgrown my shop, so I bought the rights to the Inkyboy Gallery parcel from him so that I may move my shop there instead. I know I'm biased, being its builder, but it's larger and lovely and closer to the hub and Gryffin will still be able to show his work. The Guvnah stopped by and switched it all over. Exciting!

A win-win situation for everyone...

[SOLD] Regency Parcel Available!!

SOLD!

I am selling the parcel rights to my beautiful 1536 waterside lot in Regency as I would like to relocate to another lot closer to the hub there.

It is at #10 Thornfield, Regency's main road, just at the bend. The neighbors in Regency are friendly, the architecture's pretty, and yes, you really can sail from there (I've done it!).

I am selling it for $18,432L which is the original price I purchased the land rights for from the Guvnah. You will continue to pay tier to him. It is a double prim lot with 702 prims available and if you would like to a copy of the pier with its Caledon bunting, I will be more than happy to give you one. Click HERE if you would like to visit and see the property.

Please contact me inworld if you are interested. Thank you!

New Inkyboy Gallery Regency Exhibit: "Burgeonesse"

As curator of the Inkyboy Gallery Caledon Regency located just off that sim's hub, I would like to announce Gryffin Hax's latest exhibit, just in time for Spring: "Burgeonesse"

Vibrant, lush color photographs examining the blossoming panopoly of the plant world, arisen from the fecund, chthonic earth...

Come for the artwork, stay for the absinthe.

Conversation with Friends

I joined Edwina, Dia & Gryffin for a chat in the Gallery in Regency. It's been a long time since we've all been in one place and it was nice to do so...

Ghost Elle Has Another Quiet Day

I have been so busy lately with the shops, so I thought I'd take another day to do nothing. I thought I'd be in "Ghost Elle" form..Stopped by Dia's Loft pub in Harborside...
And along with Zoe, chatted and had avatar and gestures fun...

Giant Santa Nix

While in my Regency apartment working on my new dress for the upcoming Dark Victoria fashion show on the 29th, I did a double take as I looked out of the window. A 6-story Santa Nix was roaming the streets. I slowly backed away from the window, drew the curtains and continued as before. Well, it wasn't like he was on a rampage or anything...

A Change in Neighbors

I came home to Regency to find my longtime neighbors ShayLee Greenspan and Drystan Knight have moved and the land sold to Mr Sands. I ran into her later and she told me she is moving to another Caledon sim. I wish them both much luck in their new Caledon home... I sat on the step of my pier as I built. I realize how infrequently I get to do that anymore. I have been running around rather busy with the shops and all as I believe in my SL paying for my SL. Do you ever get the feeling that you aren't stopping to smell your roses anymore even in here?

Creative Sprees and Neighborly Chats

Lately, I have been on a roll at E.Laval Fine Clothing. Lots of new dresses for the women and a new Worker outfit called "Peat" for the gents and one called "Invent" for the ladies. "Invent" is based upon a female miner's outfit from the 1880s and has an apron and leather-patched knees. I think I'll wear it while building...Here is the advertisement for the "Calais", inspired by one of my favorite artists James Tissot...Still dressed from my shoot, I thought I'd stop by Mayfair to check on my shop like normal. I found my new neighbor across the tracks, Mr Bubba Daniels, there with his delightful hounds. I had called out greetings to Capt. Paravane as I passed the Chaiwallah tea house earlier and she came down the street to join us. There is something to be said about neighbors having a pleasant chat over the fence with one another...
And if not over the fence, taking the time to gather in places like one of our many pubs or even the Inkyboy Gallery in Regency to chat with neighbors and friends. The parlor is always open to anyone who'd like to sit and chat with one another, as I did with Dia and Gryffin later on that evening...

Patina Exhibit Opening Party

There's a lot going of with all of the Anniversary events and general weekend things, but for me the highlight today was the party at the Inkyboy Gallery Regency to celebrate the opening of Gryffin Hax's exhibit Patina. the music was jazz and blues with a New Orleans vibe in keeping with the photography...

I enjoy being the Gallery's curator and helping with the business and publicity aspects of it...that and keeping a certain artiste focused. It was a nice turnout and yes, Miss Connolly is dancing in underwater diving gear having come from a SL Bloggers party in Sailor's Cove... Miss Summer Gildea (below) came straight from the "Rez a Des" Guvnah impersonation contest held a bit earlier. I do believe Mr Volare won and his involved neko catnip (how perfect!). I could not stop laughing as I could only imagine all the faux Guvnahs in one place and I am indeed sorry to have missed it. I see "Des flash mobbing" in our future! He later announced in main Caledon chat that he will not be working on Caledon Independence Day Tuesday. I gasped in shock and reached for my smelling salts...Even the Guvnah needs a day off from time to time, don't you think?

Lancers, Huck, and a Waiting Kitty

I have completed the latest version of my Worker ensembles in "Peat"--a deep dark brown. Sir Tele asked to see it just before going to the Caledon Lancers review and Edison Ball. I found him on the top of a Loch Avie tower and we were joined by Dia, also rather smart in Lancer uniform. My, that will be quite a hop for Boanerges...I've been busy with shopkeeping, but stopped through the Edison Ball at Loch Avie. Oh dear, everyone being an interesting shade of grey really must stop...
Afterwards, I stopped through the Mark Twain-themed Steelhead Friday night party...
And Mr G. Hax and I have been bustling around the Inkyboy Gallery prepping it for the Grand Opening New Orleans "Patina" exhibit party Sunday. I tp'd back upstairs from the basement and thought it was so very cute that my kitty Nefi was sitting there waiting for me...

Just Another Night in Regency & SteamSkyCity

Am I sitting on top on my Regency mailbox with a shot of whiskey? Yes.

Is Dia sitting on top of my land's information sign with toast for me for my future hangover? Yes.

Do I feel like talking about why I was sitting on my mailbox downing spirits? No. After I got over my "moment", I went to SSC. Beyond SteamSkyCity, I rarely visit the Southern sims. I realized, for instance, that I've never been to Greystoke or Nova Civis! After hitting my head at the pumping station, I thought I'd explore Aether Isle and found myself at the top of the mooring tower there. What a view! There's SSC...And then Caledon itself spread before me. I have times where I think Caledon's one of the prettiest places on the grid, and this was one of them...

As curator of the Inkyboy Gallery Caledon Regency located just off that sim's hub, I would like to announce Gryffin Hax's "Patina" exhibit.

Twenty-eight haunting and evocative photographs taken in New Orleans' French Quarter of a city's multilayered mystery and history.

Come for the artwork, stay for the absinthe...

Dragons and the Coming Bunneh Revolution?

Wandered Regency as a bunneh for my Sunday stroll...
Stopped by the aerodrome and showed Flight LT J8ke "Flash" Hawker my gorgeous beautiful steampunkily wonderful Raptor...Then he showed me his 290 prim zeppelin...oh...my...
Stopped through Carntaigh to celebrate Duchess Gabi's appearance on SLCN. The lovely dragon, Puff Mariner, was holding a board in her mouth saying "Play my song..."
Went to work my aether muse magic for my curmudgeonly dragon inventor employer Mr Dominic Webb. I did not know that a bunny attack would be part of the job description...how does this keep happening to me?

A Busy Sunday!

I was admiring Gryffin's trophy for his decorated gallery windows while in my snow phoenix AV, which has crackling fire effects (and snowflakes--what a combination!). I used to wear different AVs on a more regular basis when I first came to Caledon. Why in the world did I ever stop as I do enjoy it so? I have a few favorite forms, such as this one, so perhaps I shall sport them more often! I was preparing to go to the Tinies New Year's Ball in Raglan, but stopped through the Loft in Harborside first for a chat with Dia, Gryffin and Zoe...
This sign in the tavern is hilarious...
I hosted in a pinch for Dia at Jazzer's Paradise where we rocked out to metal...
And ended my evening sharing pints of Guinness and catching up with Prof. Messmer at Dr Fabre's Quarterdeck Reform Club in Port Babbage...

Tonight's Town Meeting and a Bad Joke-Fest

A good turn out at the town meeting in Steelhead tonight. Miss Burton showed up in her silks--as planned--but the rest of us forgot except Lumina. She quickly changed. Sorry! Oops! Next week!Doc Mason froze and crashed in the middle of hooooing. He was promptly chickened and more...
Later, I walked down the street to tweak a texture in the gallery and came across Dr Mason. As curator, I gave him a tour of it. We were joined by Gryffin and I was soon glad when Dia joined us, as they both seem to have a predilection for torturing me by telling rather bad jokes...
