One of my SL guilty pleasures in enjoying the sunset over the Firth with Phin at our place in Mayfair. I would have kicked my legs up on the table, but that would have been rather unladylike considering what I was wearing.

Change...
Whether through no fault of our own or of our own choosing, change does happen. Things that are familiar to our lives in here surprise us with the fierceness of the memories we attach to them. Today, I sold my first land in Caledon to my neighbor Mr Melnik. I enjoyed tweaking this little plot, adding things and having fun with it. Riding Flashy from it across the nation. Target practice in the backyard. Just sitting on the ground in the back talking with Puck. Tea with Eds in the carriage house. It being set afire during the great Mayfair Alien Invasion for RFL. Using it as my home when the servers were so bad I couldn't log in anywhere else. I loved this little parcel. I will still be maintaining my store in Regency and as a Messmer, we have land in Mayfair and Penzance, but I remember my great joy and excitement upon purchasing this parcel and while sorry to let it go, change happens...
There is no need for me to speak any more upon the utter pain and anger that so many of the peerage in Caledon have felt upon the losses of their openspace duchy sims. To choose to leave is one thing, but to be forced to is another. To say that our community has not been irrevocably altered by this particular change would be a lie on my part. Tonight, I attended the last event--a holiday ball--at the duchy of Loch Avie. As I twirled through the snow with Lunar, I thought once again about how you become familiar with a place, and there is a comfort in that, even in here. Your Grace, thank you for the lovely things you have done for the Caledon community and Loch Avie will be truly missed.

SOLD! Caledon Mayfair Parcel Available
This property has been sold. Thank you.I am selling the parcel rights to my lovely little lot and original Caledon land in charming Caledon Mayfair...
The lot is at #5 Lemon Street and Green, next to the rail tracks and down the way from the Connolly Aerodrome and Penzance. The neighbors in Mayfair are friendly and quiet and it has been quite a nice place to have a small shop.
I am selling it for $7364L, which is original price I purchased the land rights for from the Guvnah and it has 70 days rent included. You will continue to pay tier (375L/wk) to him. It is a 1024 lot with 234 prims available and if you would like to have the shop building, I will be more than happy to include it. It was a wonderful Caledon starter property for me and I hope it will be for the next resident as well! Click HERE if you would like to visit and see the property.
Please feel free to contact me inworld via IM or notecard if you are interested. Thank you!

And a Jager Came from the East...
This is a bit of a round-up of events from the last few days. Being a long-time resident of Caledon Mayfair, I was delighted to attend the opening of Mr Steadman Kondor's publishing emporium yesterday. He threw a small party not only to celebrate that occasion, but it being the Rez Day of Caledon Mayfair itself!
Mr. Greegar Hellershanks arrived on a camel dressed as one of the Wise Men...
Later on that evening, I went to Steelhead to celebrate the birthday of it Emperor, Mr SteelCobra Calamari...
Oh! A bit of silliness from this week's Steelhead town meeting. Yes, we are all wearing red Rudolph the reindeer noses...

A Nice Evening on the Water
Phin is now the new owner of the NW corner Connolly Park parcel in Mayfair. It's a really lovely place to sit by the waters of the Firth and watch the sun go down...
The gazebo, lighthouse and docks are open for visitors to use and it is a great place to sail from. We thought we'd celebrate under the stars with some of the wine from my vineyard. Newbe was ever so kind to help me with the bottling process...

A Rather Busy Tuesday Evening...
I chatted with adventurer Quinn Lazius in Mayfair during his pubcrawl after telling him where to find our neighborhood's local watering hole, the Wheel & Hub Tavern...
I thought I would try to get in some work building the town of Steelhead Boomtown in miniature for Steelhead's RFL build...
Lunar danced with me at the anniversary of the Duke & Duchess of Argylle. The Duchess, unfortunately, was unable to attend due to RL power outage issues and they will try to reschedule it once more. Lunar and I later excused ourselves...
...so that I could finish Boomtown mini and he could finish other work at the site. I think Sheriff Fuzz was rather tickled at the tiny version of his Gearz club. It took many many hours, but I finished all of the buildings and structures. I will texture them later. If you want to see the finished result, stop by the Steelhead site in the Heroes 6 sim during SL's RFL! Trust me when I say it is great fun to walk through the buildings!!!

Mayfair's Library Park
While strolling through my neighborhood in Mayfair, I was tickled by its lovely park created by the Caledon Library and settled in comfortably by the tree...
Soon I was joined by Capt Paravane and Mr Alisdair Westland, a new visitor to Caledon and an interesting fellow. If you are in Mayfair, do stop by the park for a bit of peace with a good book...

Creative Sprees and Neighborly Chats
Lately, I have been on a roll at E.Laval Fine Clothing. Lots of new dresses for the women and a new Worker outfit called "Peat" for the gents and one called "Invent" for the ladies. "Invent" is based upon a female miner's outfit from the 1880s and has an apron and leather-patched knees. I think I'll wear it while building...
Here is the advertisement for the "Calais", inspired by one of my favorite artists James Tissot...
Still dressed from my shoot, I thought I'd stop by Mayfair to check on my shop like normal. I found my new neighbor across the tracks, Mr Bubba Daniels, there with his delightful hounds. I had called out greetings to Capt. Paravane as I passed the Chaiwallah tea house earlier and she came down the street to join us. There is something to be said about neighbors having a pleasant chat over the fence with one another...
And if not over the fence, taking the time to gather in places like one of our many pubs or even the Inkyboy Gallery in Regency to chat with neighbors and friends. The parlor is always open to anyone who'd like to sit and chat with one another, as I did with Dia and Gryffin later on that evening...

Scenes from a Shoot and a New Mayfair Park
Mr Jaksoi Pak, upon a chance meeting Saturday, asked if he could create a portrait of me. I joke that I am "Elle, Steampunk Supermodel", so how could I refuse? No, no really, I consider it quite an honor actually and I am very excited about it! Here is a behind the scene photo of one of the shots for it...
"You want me to look in what direction?" I was glad I wasn't going to fall off of the platform. Doing a photo shoot is rather hard work, but it was tremendous fun! I do look forward to seeing it next week and as I know that he will do an excellent job, I can not wait!
I went to my neighborhood of Mayfair afterwards and Baron Bardhaven has erected a park in honor of his second RezDay. Congrats to you and the park is lovely!

Wandering in Mayfair & Penzance
I thought I'd take a leisurely walk around my neighborhood of Mayfair to see if there are any new neighbors and build changes. One of the most interesting ones I found in the NW corner. "Mayfair Aviation?" I had to see more and climbed the ramp to the top where there was a lovely view...
I turned around and smiled, seeing an air vehicle and all sorts of hangars and interesting things related to an aerodrome and such. I do hope there will not be many crashed vehicles in my backyard--especially knowing how I fly my own!
Walked down the road to the theater, which is gorgeous. I lowered the curtain and "Oooo!"

Conversation and A Fitting...
I heard a "Hellllloooooo!!!" as Otenth and Dia stopped by the shop as Mr Writer was scripting my doors for me. I redid my stairs and railing last night and I'm rather pleased with them. Building and fashion...Yes. Scripting? I am quite inept. We had a good conversation before Dia popped away to go spar in Loch Avie. I would have joined her, but I was a bit busy and had a fitting in Mayfair to tend to...
I swear he was looking right at me for quite a while when I took the picture, damnable lag! Let us just pretend that the Duke Regent Kintyre was contemplating something deep when I snapped it. He had commissioned me to create the tartan waistcoats for the members of the Kintyre court, including a tiny-sized version. I even threw in a top hat for him (although he's not much of a hat person--can't muss the ponytail, right?) I think they all came out rather well and I'm looking forward to knowing what the rest of them think.
Here I am modeling the tiny version of it...I used the same vintage velvet, except his has pearl buttons and is a full ensemble with black bespoke herringbone fabric trousers. Can't wait to see it on its recipient!
